Julie has forty years experience in fieldwork and leadership positions. Programming and planning Chief for the Alabama Department of Senior Services, her grant writing skills have resulted in millions of dollars for the State of Alabama. She was responsible for the strategic planning and development of the State Plan on Aging. While at the State, her responsibilities included providing technical assistance and oversight for the Older American's Act provided by the Area Agencies on Aging partners and ADSS staff, and included other funded programs such as Title V Senior Employment, State Health Insurance Counseling (SHIP), Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP), MIPPA Grants, Senior RX-medication assistance program, Alabama Cares and Aging and Disability Resource Programs. Duties also included acting as the Project Director for the Medicaid ADRC and Lifespan Respite Grants. Additionally she has served as Executive Director of the Middle Alabama Area Agency on Aging and Executive Director of the Autism Society of Alabama.
